Dear John

"Movie night in" with the sister, in bed.
This movie is seriously so sad. *cries*
But it was a good movie.
The moral of the story?
"Always Wait".

Had to cheer myself up after watching this tear jerker though.
The Toast Scene from "Street dance" =)

That's how I want to know You =)

By Heart, By Soul -Avalon and Aaron Neville

Verse 1:
If You were a road
I'd learn every turn til I
Could find my way with my eyes closed
If You were a song
I'd sing along til I
Knew every word and every note

But you were everything to me
A mystery
Your the Love I live to see

Chorus:
By heart, by soul
Thats how I want to know You
Keep you as close as
Breath is to life
Wanna watch Your Love unfold
By heart, by soul

Verse 2:
If You were a place
I'd stay my whole life til I
Had every corner memorized
And if You were a star
I'f follow You home, You would be
The Light that is my only guide

You were everything to me
My A to Z
Your the Love thats lives in me

Bridge:
I wanna know You inside and out
Better than I even know myself

If You were a star
I'd follow You home by heart
By soul

FYI- Flower meanings:
Sunflower Flower Symbolism

sunflower symbolismThe flower symbolism associated with sunflowers is adoration. Sunflowers turn their heads to the sun, which is the origin of their common name. Sunflowers belong to the genus helianthus, a reference to Helios, the sun god. Sunflowers are native to the Americas and are the state flower of Kansas.Cultivated sunflowers can reach an incredible twenty feet in height. Sunflowers are one of the fastest growing plants in the world, increasing in height up to one foot a day. These lofty heights have resulted in the sunflower being symbolic of haughtiness as well as adoration.

Rose Flower Symbolism
The flower symbolism associated with roses is love, remembrance, passion (red); purity (white); happiness (pink); infidelity (yellow); unconscious beauty, I love you. Roses were first cultivated 5,000 years ago in Asian gardens. Confucius wrote that the emperor of China owned over 600 books on the cultivation of roses. Roses were introduced to Europe during the Roman Empire and were thereafter used for ornamental purposes. Roses are emblems of England and New York City. This name was in use throughout the Middle Ages (long before herb and flower names became popular) and probably originated as a short form of longer Germanic names containing the word hrod, meaning "horse."

Morning Glory Flower Symbolism
morning glory flower symbolismThe flower symbolism associated with the morning glory is affection. As the name implies, morning glory flowers, which are funnel-shaped, open in the morning, allowing them to be pollinated by hummingbirds, butterflies, bees, other daytime insects and birds. The flower typically lasts for a single morning and dies in the afternoon. New flowers bloom each day.

Daisy Flower Symbolism
daisy floer symbolismThe flower symbolism associated with the daisy is purity, innocence, loyal love, beauty, patience and simplicity. Daisies are often depicted in meadows in Medieval paintings, also known as a "flowery mead." Daisies are believed to be more than 4,000 years old and hairpins decorated with daisies were found during the excavation of the Minoan Palace on the Island of Crete. Even further back, Egyptian ceramics were decorated with daisies. The English name is derived from the flower name, from Old English dægeseage, "day's eye."

Gerbera Daisies Symbolism
These flowers stand for more than happiness, but they are a classic symbol of beauty and wonder. They are very bright and cheerful; however, they also can mean things like innocents, love, and appreciation. When it comes to the colors you’ll find that white is for purity and innocent. Red stands for passion and love. Yellow stands for cheerful, while pink stand for appreciation. You’ll want to keep in mind that these daisies do have a way of expressing your thoughts and feelings, but you’ll also find that they are distinctly bright and cheerful.

"I'll call you 'Rose'"

Once upon a time, there was the Sun.
While on the earth, grew a creeper
Too small, a little green
And compared to others, a whole lot weaker.

Everyday, the Sun gave His light
And the little vine grew thicker.
It took in water and ignored its plight
Amongst the towering, mighty Firs.

As it gained strength, a playful child
Came and laid a stone against its sides.
Laughing at it being defiled
And then walked away with great pride.

Struggling as it could, the little vine tried
To reach the Sun with her great burden.
However she might, however she cried
She seemed lost, alone and broken.

But one day, a Gardener came
And removed the heavy load.
He built around her a mainframe;
A trellis, new earth- her new abode.

He watered her and looked after her constantly-
This Father with many children.
Tender and loving and oh so kindly,
She strengthened under His givin'.

Under His care she stood up straight
And learnt to love that playful little boy.
The stone that he laid against her helped create
The weight at her roots and now brought her much joy.

"I'll call you 'Rose'" One of the Gardener's sons said,
Even as she was nothing but leaves and twigs and vine.
It gave her a promise- to look ahead;
And with His words she chose to align.

One day she discovered, a couple had gathered.
To pause and stop and stare.
"Oh she's beautiful!" the lady whispered
"Her fragrance fills the air!"

That was when she realised
That her dreams had now come true.
The little vine, once despised
Now was something new.

Raising her head towards her Sun,
She was thankful with what she chose.
True enough, as was said by the Son,
In His time, she had become that Rose.

"The best thing that happened to me on this trip"

Is truly you, dear brother
I know you said it once,
but when I think about it
It's the truth.

It's plain and simple-
I'm so glad we're like two peas in a pod
Kindred spirits
Who understand
And care about each other
And for God's will to be done on this earth

In and through our lives
In our families
In our friends
It's amazing

How blessed
And joyful and grateful
I have been towards God
And definitely towards you

For everything He has done
You have done
For me
This year

Has been a year of blessings
Your friendship takes the cake (or mudpie, literally)
What a joy and a privilege
To worship God

Freely and unabashedly
And to see God do great and mighty things
In our lives
In the lives of others

I'll miss you
So so so so much
It is one of the reasons
Why I wish

That summer doesn't end yet
And that the diverging paths
Come later, rather than sooner
But I know God

Has His plans for us
Where He is sending us
And His destiny for our lives must be fulfilled

So as to make Jesus our "Happily Ever After" =)

Lai la tov!!!

To Kwee

kwee, did I ever say that I'm always grateful and thankful for you?

I knew what a good friend you were

When you sat outside my house, in your car

Just the two of us.

At the lowest point in my life

And proceeded to give me the talk that saved my summer 2009.

"God will make a way for you. He always has. You think one blip like that will mess it all up?"

You're right.

He came through for me this year.

In ways I could not even begin to describe.

So thank you!

Here's to 5 years of friendship (and counting)

And knowing that God's will for our lives will be perfected.

In His time. =)

An evening's walk - an allegory

Full moon, light up the sky
Tonight I walked
With heart ablaze
Set on my path
Set on my destination
So sure
So silent
So confident

Darkness falls
A cat meows
Thoughts flutter through my mind

Footsteps falter
Ouch! A stone in my shoe!
Feelings flood
Pain.
Hopeless
Romantic?

I think of you dear moon
Will I ever match up to you?
You're so bright
And too far to reach
Your face
Scarred but beautiful
Has seen the years go by

Darkness falls again
Clouds cover
I hasten my pace
Where are you now, oh moon?
I miss you
I walk on, alone.

Lightning flashes
Thunder beckons
I hurry home.
I am not in control tonight
Of the weather
My thoughts
My feelings

I think I fell in love with the moon.
Even though I know
The sun awaits me tomorrow.

The Song of Moses

Tonight, I had "church" twice. Once in my house and the second time at Tim's house.

hahaha. it was funny cause even though there was no prior preparation, the theme of the evening in both services were the same.

truly amazing. We were bible studying on James 1 in my house and when ym, peter, dad and I went to visit- Uncle David was talking about Wisdom being the principal thing.=)

But the fear of the Lord is a very important topic that needed to be addressed; and one of my favourite songs in the whole world was sung, albeit in a different tune and form:
Song of Moses -Brooklyn Tabernacle Choir (embedding disabled by request, so cannot post here)

Furthermore, I finally met another seer (chose). And that was an interesting experience because even as I saw Annie's life, she saw mine. And we both knew that we could see each other's lives. hahahaha!

"Like-a-rose" has such significant meaning to me. [She said she saw me as a (LARGE) pink rose] LOL, why pink!?!  >.<

Anyway reasons why I love roses:

1. Jesus' name is the "Rose of Sharon"

2. In "Above All"; Jesus' dying on the cross for our sins was represented as a rose being trampled on the ground and when I saw that in a vision, I remember bursting into tears at what an awesome God I serve; One who would die for me and understand the rejection and loneliness I felt.

This was back in 2005. Ryan Sean Flores, we led worship so many times with this song and I remember each moment that we did. =)

3. Roses are my favouritEST flowers in the whole wide world (dunno why... I just naturally loved them since I was young; might be the beauty and the beast rose. hee hee.)

I have been truly blessed by God this year. =P (and I am glad that daddy was also blessed tonight, it was ABOUT TIME!!!)

Stars and scars

While listening to Kenny Wong complain, whine, grumble, throw bricks on skype (LOL!), I had another 90s flashback of another song that I liked.
And still do. =)

What makes you different

It just had to be the "boyband of boyband's" LOL. Backstreet Boys.

I totally think it's akanksha's fault for me having so many 90s flashbacks.

Shape of my heart

I Promise You

THANKS FOR THE GOOD TALKING TO (and the very pink sandals) TIM!!!!! =)
You are truly God sent to me.
Sometimes one just needs a third person's perspective on sticky issues.
Thank you, thank you.

oh goodness! had a 90s flashback while in the shower just now.
hahahahaha. treasure trove of times past man!
Does anyone remember PLUS ONE? =)

Last Flight Out

Here in My Heart

My Friend

cheesy lyrics and synthesized background music. But really liked their songs back in 2000. This is hilarious.

Now they're doing full time worship for the Lord. Decided that fame was short lived. haha.

Colour coded- random thoughts

Blue. A feeling. Like Raindrops falling.
Yellow. Sunflowers. Warmth. Sunrises.
Orange. Sunsets. Fruits.
Pink. Salmon. Turtlenecks. Rosebuds.
Black. Night. A canvass for stars.
Gold. Jerusalem. Silence.
Green. My favourite colour. Leaves. You.

Afraid. Unafraid.
Why am I afraid?
Of who they are.
Of what they will say.
Of where I am right now.
Of where you are right now.
Of what I might say.
Of what you might say.
Of what I can't offer.

Grey. Mixed emotions.
Confusion. Ambiguity.
Thinking too much all the time.
Help. I need to face my fears.
Once and for all.

You are magnificent

It's been 3 months since my last post.
And so much has happened. I totally don't know where to begin.
I'll need to find some quiet time to blog down everything.

It's truly been an amazing year.
and guess what? it's not over yet.  =)
